M. Christine Butler



Chris Butler is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education with the Monroe Public Schools in Monroe Michigan. She has sixteen years of experience as classroom teacher, curriculum consultant and building principal. As a Central Office administrator, Chris has been the district MEAP coordinator and supervisor of the district's state and federal  programs since 1986.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University in 1969, a Masters of Arts degree in reading from Eastern Michigan University in 1976 and a Specialists degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Toledo in 1981. Chris has been featured on the Jim Leher News Hour on PBS and presented at numerous state and national conferences.
