This session will examine the role of ethics and individual change in leadership as it relates to internal and external influences. Implications for public policy makers will be discussed.
Ethics as it Relates to Public Policy, Leadership & Individual Change Learning Team Members
Lunch: 12:00 - 1:00 pm Participants will be asked to complete two activities prior to 1:00. Directions for the activities will be explained during lunch.
Session A (1:00 - 2:40 pm) Participants will have a short presentation on ethics and ethical decision-making. Using the Kidder Decision- making Model, participants will engage in scenario-based activities.
Session B (2:50 - 5:00 pm) Participants will continue group scenarios and activities using a second decision -making model. Following the activities, participants will engage in a presentation/activity that adds two more layers to ethical decision-making: culture and the role of the follower. Session B ends with participants reflecting on individuals undergoing change and its ties to ethics and leadership. The concluding activity asks participants to evaluate the presentation.
